We’re always going to need new members, mentors and parents. If you live close to Ann Arbor, Michigan, we would be happy to have you come in and join!
To members: You don’t have to be a student of Skyline High School, or even of the Ann Arbor Public Schools to join. You just have to be a high school student and agree to follow the Skyline General Rule of Conduct (see P.11). Having at least a basic knowledge of computers and power tools would be great, but our more seasoned members always help the new guys.
To mentors: It doesn’t matter if you’re parent or not. If you at least have experience or interest in working with youth, you’re welcome to join. If you’ve been a mentor or are an alumnus of another team already, welcome back!
To parents: We need you: To help transport students to team meetings, community outreach events and competitions; to help feed them during the build season and competitions; and to help organize events, such as end-of-season banquet.
Interested? Join our email newsletter as a “prospective member” and check the calendar to stay informed about summer and fall events specifically for interested students. Then, in September, attend our annual Kickoff Meeting.
