The second week of the 2017 FRC build season is off to a good start. The JV and Varsity teams have already started on their unique ideas. Varsity is planning on making a climbing bot that specializes in gear scoring, while JV is taking a more traditional approach with a low ball scorer that also climbs. Each team is hard at work, Varsity already has a basic prototype up and running, while JV is taking the more thorough approach to their design.
The three-day robot was a giant success with proving that robots can, in fact, climb a rope! It was also a huge benefit to our design and CAD teams, in letting them know what works and what will need modification.
This year members of our team will be participating in Ri3D(Robot in 3 Days) event. Working with former team mentor Quentin Weir the students will be building a robot to play this year FRC game. The team for our build consists of Colt Parker, Fedor Dolgcachev, Leina Kaehr, Charlie Siers, Ken Fox, and Quentin Weir. Ann Arbor software development company Llamasoft has generously agreed to sponsor Eagle Imperium. Llamasoft develops supply chain management software, and they were one of the many cool companies we met on the Ann Arbor Tech Trek. Thanks so much to Llamasoft for their support!
Yesterday was our annual end of school year banquet. The varsity members got their letters, while jv got their numbers. Last Friday we helped out at the Hands-On Museum, it was a lot of fun.
